Logged-On Library: EBSCO eBooks
While the Rochelle Park Library is closed for our remodel, we will be sharing some tips and tricks to accessing the digital services available to you thanks to your BCCLS library card.
To get started with EBSCO eBooks, you’ll want to go to the Rochelle Park Library website, open the “Services” tab, and select “Research Assistance.”
The “Research Assistance” page is where you can find any of the online resources made available to you through JerseyClicks, a service offered by the New Jersey State Library to help library patrons access a variety of online materials.
To open EBSCO eBooks, scroll down and click on the EBSCO eBooks link in the list of JerseyClicks resources.
To log in to EBSCO eBooks, you first enter your library card number when prompted.
Once you login, you will be able to search for eBooks by author, title, keywords, and more, or you can browse the various categories identified by EBSCO.
You can also access a free, online version of the Oxford American Dictionary by selecting the “Dictionary” tab in the top right corner.
To place a search, you’ll want to enter keywords, an author’s name, or a title in the search bar. To view any of the search results, just click on the title.
Full-text PDFs are available for many of the eBooks available through EBSCO, and these PDFs can be downloaded to read later.
You can select the “Add to Folder” icon in the top left corner to save an eBook to read later.
By selecting the “Folder” icon in the top right corner, you can see the eBooks you have saved to read later.
Once you enter the “Folder,” you can adjust your preferences and customize your account in the top right corner.
In order to log back in and access these eBooks later, you’ll need to create a username and password. From the “Folder,” please select “Sign in to My EBSCOhost.”
To create your account, you should select the “Create one now” link at the bottom of the login page. Once you’ve entered your information, you’ll be led back to the login page to enter your information.
With any further questions please feel free to Contact Us or check the “Help” tab in the top right corner of your EBSCO eBooks homepage.
