Logged-On Library: Academic Search Premier
While the Rochelle Park Library is closed for our remodel, we will be sharing some tips and tricks to accessing the digital services available to you thanks to your BCCLS library card.
To get started with Academic Search Premier, a scholarly research site perfect for school projects, you’ll want to go to the Rochelle Park Library website, open the “Services” tab, and select “Research Assistance.”
The “Research Assistance” page is where you can find any of the online resources made available to you through JerseyClicks, a service offered by the New Jersey State Library to help library patrons access a variety of online materials.
To open Academic Search Premier, scroll down and click on the Academic Search Premier link in the list of JerseyClicks resources.
To log in to Academic Search Premier, you first enter your library card number when prompted.
From the Academic Search Premier homepage, you can find a variety of scholarly articles. You can make a basic search from the first page…
...or set even more specific details under the “Advanced Search” option.
For example, this is a search for Full Text, Peer Reviewed, English language Articles or Book Chapters published between 2010 and 2019. The subject of these articles is the economic impact of climate change or global warming.
Using complex search terms and setting specific search options helps to make your search as specific and helpful as possible, while making sure you don’t miss any materials which may be helpful.
Once you make your initial search, you can continue to narrow down search results using the refinement options in the left margin of the page.
To save an article to read for later, you can also select the blue folder to the right of each result, which will save the article to your Folder.
Once you open the article, specific details, an abstract, and often the full text of the article are available. Some articles even have audio options, so you can listen to a recording of the article.

Once you enter the “Folder,” by selecting the folder icon on the top right corner of the page, you can adjust your preferences and customize your account in the top right corner.
In order to log back in and access these articles later, you’ll need to create a username and password. From the “Folder,” please select “Sign in to My EBSCOhost.”
